1. Overview

GenieLabs ("we", "our", "us") builds privacy-first Chrome extensions. This policy explains how Job Genie collects, uses, and protects your information.

2. Data We Collect

  • Resume text: Stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage. Never uploaded to our servers.
  • Job details: Job title, company, JD text, and URL extracted from job pages. Saved to your own Google Sheet via the Google Sheets API.
  • Google account email: Used only for Google Sheets OAuth authentication. We do not store your Google credentials.
  • AI scoring: All AI processing runs entirely in your browser. No resume data is sent to any external AI service.

3. Data We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect browsing history
  • We do not sell or share your data with third parties
  • We do not run ads or use analytics trackers
  • We do not store your resume on any server

4. Google Sheets Integration

Job Genie requests OAuth permission to write to Google Sheets. This permission is used only to create and append rows to your job tracking spreadsheet. We request the minimum required scope (spreadsheets) and do not access any other Google data.

5. Data Retention

All extension data is stored in your browser's local storage. You can clear it at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing extension data in Chrome settings. We retain no copies server-side.

6. Children's Privacy

Job Genie is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as new features are added. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the extension after updates constitutes acceptance.
